No. 41
Welcome to your club. The club is to be informal, relaxed and very friendly but at the same time professional.
BIBIC
This show goes from strength to strength it really is a lovely show. There were over 400 exhibits including around 30 lorries. The weather was brilliant and the atmosphere so friendly. On the Saturday 87 vehicles went on the cruise to Brean Leisure Park I think there was only about 5 lorries that didn’t go. Sunday was show day and you nearly had to show horn the cars in to the showground.
We must thank Blue Ridge Runners for inviting us and making the show a huge success. There is a DVD of the cruise being put together for those interested. If you ring Paul and he will sort it our Paul Stamps 01279 683669.
Also Jenny, who did the raffle all weekend, would like to personally thank the drivers for supporting the raffle and their generosity in buying tickets. No one refused and everyone spent quite a lot of money to help raise the total. We must thank Jon & Ann Parkhouse who judged the lorries and interiors. Also Steve Lyons for taking the trailer there, and Andy Lee for returning, it to the yard.
Our results were
Best Truck 1st Paul Dayman, Les Knight
2nd Lyndon Darlow, Ford Fuels 3rd Richard Haines, D&R Express

PICKERING SHOW
Congratulations to Carol Barney, Peacock Transport for getting 3rd for Pre 96 Class. Will Pringle, S C Transport reached the final of Custom.
HAYDOCK PARK
Our final show of the season is Haydock Park not a favourite but the trailer was needed there so we went. Thanks to Andy Lee for taking the trailer there and back. It’s a strange show the lorries are divided into two halves, those not camping on tarmac those camping the other side of the trade stands in another area which allows tents etc. to be out up.
As we were only there at the last minute we didn’t have trophies for United Truckers but we did well for Live Promotions. The main ring is so small the drivers decided to walk into the ring as there would be no room for the lorries.
The results were
Best Owner Driver 2nd Gareth Smart
Ian Course, Tigger also reached the final for this one.

This was the last show for Tony Moore, Axminster, with this lorry, so watch out boys he’s having a new one in the Autumn and will be in best new truck category next year.
Ahh………………
The season is now over the trailer is stripped out curtains down, bedding packed away and put to bed for the winter. Time to start on the lorry now, hopefully to get it ready for next year. If Tony gets his HGV renewal and things carry on as now we will do some shows with her, but we shall still need help getting to and from others. We did 12 shows this year and the cost will not allow us to do all again next year.

BRANDS HATCH
Anyone requiring forms for3rd & 4th November let Shirley know. The trailer won’t be there too damp but it should be good anyway.
GET TOGETHER
This has been arranged for Saturday 1st December at Woodborough Inn, Winscombe (nr Bristol Airport) A buffet has been booked and we have skittles arranged or just a chat. It will be nice to see everyone before Christmas. We shall hold a raffle so any donations gratefully received. Don’t forget 1st December.
(See overleaf for directions)

CHILDRENS CONVOY
This has been booked for Saturday 7th June 2008 returning to Longleat. We are limited to 55 trucks which is about right for us. We have had to have some limitations though, no air horns and carers to pay for their own rides etc. it seems there was some confusion last time. There will be no safari for the lorries this time.
We shall finalise details at the AGM, just a note for your diary for now.
NEXT YEAR DINNER & DANCE/AGM
It will be at Quicksilver Mail, Yeovil about 200 yards from the Rugby Club.
The AGM will be followed by a hot plated buffet i.e. Chiili. The cost will be £10 per head.
This has now been booked although details will be finalised including accommodation and advised in the December news.
