Welcome to your club. The club is to be informal, relaxed and very friendly but at the same time professional.``

CHRISTMAS SOCIAL
We had a get together early December not many turned up, about 30, but we had a good night all the same. We had an excellent raffle which covered the cost of the food and then a game of Killer Skittles which was won by Ben Keedwell, the £30 he won he gave straight back for tea and coffee and the Gennie Fund which was very kind of him, Thanks Ben
The venue has been extensively done up and would possibly make a good venue for future get togethers or the AGM evening with a Travel Lodge just about 1½ miles down the road.   Food for thought maybe.

DINNER & DANCE/AGM
This event has been booked a few details to confirm but generally the groundwork has been done. We went up to Yeovil and met Dave & Lo Cross and confirmed a lot of the evening that day.   It will be on Saturday 15th March at Quicksilver Mail, Yeovil about 200 yards from the Rugby Club.
The AGM will be at 6pm, which will be as usual members & spouses. If you have any items for the agenda please let Shirley know asap then it can be added. This is YOUR club so please try to attend.
Memberships can be paid a the AGM or a renewal form will be in your next news which is April but remember your insurance this year runs out 31st March.
The evening will then be an open ticket event with the usual crowd as at Dave & Lo Cross’ event last year.
We will be decorating the room throughout the day and Dave thinks he has a sponsor to pay for the decorations. The band will be LONG SHOTT.
Hopefully the bar will be open until 1am.
The food will be about 8.30pm and will be a hot buffet: chicken curry, chilli, lasagne and a vegetarian option, served with rice, potatoes and side salads. As this is a ticket event we shall have doormen. We will have a general raffle and 3 specials, which Dave will organise and get sponsors for.  The profit from the raffle will be given to St Margaret’s Hospice, Yeovil in memory of Lo’s mum.

Tickets will be £10 each and available from: Dave & Lou Cross as they are organising the event make cheques payable to D Cross and send to
Mr & Mrs D Cross
56 Glenthorne Ave, Yeovil BA2 4PG or contact Dave on 07826557002
We must stress that no tickets will be kept back to be paid for on the day, all tickets must be paid for prior to the day, and they are reasonably priced.
Accommodation has been organised and will be available at The Gloetrotter in the town about 30 rooms and a bus will take you to and from the hotel. Price of the bus will be confirmed later it will leave at 5.45pm to go to Quicksilver.

CHILDRENS CONVOY
This has been booked for Saturday 7th June 2008 returning to Longleat. We are limited to 55 trucks, which is about right for us. We have had to have some limitations though, no air horns and carers to pay for their own rides etc. It seems there was some confusion last time therefore letters stating no air horns or Safari will be given to each Driver and each Carer will be given a letter advising that they have to pay for their own rides.
This is unfortunate but we have to follow Longleat’s instructions as this is the most ideal place and by far the most central and safest.

CASTLE CARY RUGBY CLUB
Buzz Mark Parsons is organising on behalf of his Club a one-day show. It will be on Saturday 24th May and will be a bike and custom show; they would like 10 lorries there. The trailer will be there. It’s a one-day and overnighter with a band during the day and in the evening. Stay overnight and then leave the following morning anyone interested contact Mark on 07966255996

CRICKET ST THOMAS
We are looking for lorries for an event in May (10th – 11th May) run by Blue Ridge Runners. Those who went last year really enjoyed it. It will be the same format as BIBIC just a different venue. The Blue Ridge Runners now organise two events a year for charity so good on them.
