Welcome to your club.

CASTLE CARY
A few lorries attended a small show for Mark Parsons (Buzz) at Castle Cary. Thanks to Hippo Bootsie, Jeremy, Gerbil, Garry & Chris, KT Parsons for attending. I know Mark would like to thank Garry very much for fetching the trailer and returning it back to the yard. In the end there were well over 100 bikes in attendance and the weather stayed kind to them. The stage was used for a band during the afternoon.
Garry won Best Truck in the show which was judged and awarded by the Bike Club.
DETLING SHOW, KENT
This show was a huge disappointment this year after such a fabulous show last year. They had merged the show with a bike show and I’m afraid to say it really did not work. The weather was kind to us very wet underfoot when we got there Friday but by Sunday the ground was pretty good.
It was the first show for Polly the Peterbilt and Paul Banks did most of the driving to help Tony out. Paul (Hippo) and Julia did all the polishing on her at the weekend and after 2 years of neglect she really looked good so thank you to you both from Tony for this. Tony still has problems heart, kidney and lung wise so he is no way well enough to polish her etc so they have taken over the driving and polishing, therefore a huge thank you from the Club for this.
Also thanks to James Removals for the box of mugs which will be very useful on the trailer.
We had about 45 United Trucker members there and wow didn’t we do well in the Grand Final. It really is a proud moment when you see them all in there and most were winners as well. Unfortunately the ground was so bad that the drivers had to walk into the main ring, so I hope I have included everyone.

CHILDRENS CONVOY
What a day, again we had beautiful weather the sun shone all day for us. Every year we have been lucky with the weather.
We had a few problems during the week leading up to the event with lorries having to drop out for one reason or another about 15 in total, but we managed to replace them all.
Thank you to all the drivers who gave up their time and money to make this a day to remember for the children.
All the areas left more or less on time and we were all at Warminster Services for 11am. At 11.30am we then had one long convoy into Longleat. The request from Longleat was no air horns and no one went against this rule.
Once the lorries were all parked up thanks to Laune’s Dad, Tony and Wayne Balsdon everyone was free to do as they wished until we left again at 4pm
Each child had a goodie bag and the drivers all had a rosette given by David CDC and centers done by Ann Parkhouse all free of charge.
Thanks to all the 54 drivers and with the price of diesel the expense was high. Special thanks to Ian Course, Roger Carter, Mark Parsons and Paul Rummey for organising their area lorries.
We had 2 donations on the day from Maurice Dance and Sean Lommax which was spent on drinks, sweets etc for the goodie bags for the children. A lot of hard work goes into the event it’s very rewarding and I know the parents of the children really appreciate the work we do for them
GAYDON SHOW Jeremy Ruff went to Gaydon Show during June and got 2 x 3rd and 3 x 1st in Model Show Section so well done to him. Still trying to work that one out, but never mind, Shirley
THRUXTON RACE WEEKEND
We will be organising food there again at a reduced cost. 2 course meal like last year £7.50 per head (children £3.50) 5pm – 7pm on the Saturday. This offer is SATURDAY ONLY. Please note spaces are limited for this weekend so book asap.
BIBIC If you have not already booked the BIBIC weekend at Bridgwater then hurry up and do so because once again this is limited to 30 lorries. We need help to raise as much as we can for the Brain Injury Centre to enable them to build a new centre so people will be able to stay rather than just visit a day centre. They need £5million for this so we need to try to do our bit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
