DONNINGTON TRUCK RACING
This show is one we have never done before there has not been truck racing there for 5 years so new to most of the drivers as well. We had a disappointing turn out of trucks but with the price of diesel it is to be expected. 40 show trucks turned up and it was a bit dusty where we were parked, the sun beat down on us all weekend, unfortunately that didn’t help dampen the dust down! The event was good for racing with a good track but very disorganised otherwise with Donnington staff. We didn’t have trophies there but for Steve Horne.

HAYDOCK PARK
As you all know for the first time in 25 years Live Promotion had to cancel a show, Haydock Park. The weather would have been beautiful but the race course cancelled it due to the car parks being waterlogged. They cancelled the race meeting the previous week. Very disappointing, as we were going up there to collect the raffle prizes, for November and February. The best laid plans and all that, so raffle prizes please they will be very very gratefully received.

THRUXTON RACE WEEKEND
While a few were in Scotland most of us were at Thruxton Race weekend and what a wonderful weekend we had.
It could have been better weather but there we can’t control everything. We had around 120 lorries very few didn’t turn up and about the only show that didn’t suffer truck attendance wise. There was more truck racing than any other year which was brilliant 8 races each day.
We must thank Steve Horne for putting on the Truck show side even with poor weather we managed to parade the track on the Sunday.

We had a very special award for Alan Coates. He had a weekend to remember
1st he fell off the ladder polishing his lorry and badly bruised his ribs, forehead and caught his wrist, I did say I felt the earth move!
2nd He caught the generator alight and burnt it out. After coming to the trailer for a fire extinguisher the brigade on site came to his rescue
3rd he burnt his kettle out and burnt the floor so as they say things really do come in 3’s!!
We did well for memberships, 5 renewals and 6 new members

BIBIC
Well the heavens opened for this event the Friday was absolutely awful and lorries had to be towed in and out! The road run on the Saturday was cancelled and on the Sunday morning the show was cancelled then the tractor came out at 12noon to tow us all out again!
Ian Course, Tigger won a tankard for being in the top 12 vehicles.
We didn’t do trophies which was just as well as I picked up a box from the office without checking it. On Saturday we opened the box and it contained James Removal mugs!
Lesson number 1; always check the box before leaving home.
We did present the money made from Santa Pod Pram Race to BIBIC totaling £450, pictures should be on the website.

TAZ
The Taz cuddly toy which we have had on going all year was finally awarded at Shepton Mallet, his name was Lloyd and won by Bubbles.
Lisa wouldn’t let him take it home for 3 weeks so he traveled around beside Bubbles all that time ‘Bless!!’

SOCIAL
We will be having a get together at the Woodborough Inn, Winscombe on Saturday 29th November at 7.30pm, with killer skittles and a small buffet. Any raffle prizes would be greatly appreciated this will help cover the cost of the food. It will just be nice to see everyone who can make it prior to the AGM in February.
