Welcome to your club.
“The club is to be informal, relaxed and very friendly But at the same time professional.``

PETERBOROUGH
Our first show for the year and we didn't really know what to expect with the economic climate but we have to say there was a lot of trucks there. I should think about as many as last year. The attendance they say was up on the Sunday but Monday didn't seem so busy. There was a lot of trade stands but well down on last year, very few market type stalls. The weather was kind to us especially Friday and Saturday windy but dry, but Monday cold and rain about 3.30ish but we have known much worse. The show is not for the faint hearted but you keep on putting layers of clothes on and try to keep as warm as you can. We did really well for membership with a total of 72 renewals and new members. Welcome all new members and I hope we have made you welcome and don’t forget to come up at any shows for a chat and a nice hot drink.

CRICKET ST THOMAS
We had a lovely weekend there the weather was wonderful but freezing by night. We took 10 lorries to the event and the ground on the Sunday which was the actually show day was packed with cars and bikes. It's always a friendly show and Blue Ridge Runners always makes us most welcome and so it works well. We put up some trophies sponsored by United Truckers.
1st  Ian Course ( Tigger ) 2nd  John Orchard ( Gardner &  Grandson )
3rd  Iain Garaway ( Universal )
Thanks to Ryan who judged the lorries you are a star !!
Amazingly we picked up 6 renewals and 4 new members there who would believe it.

SHEPTON MALLET
Please make sure you have your YELLOW STICKERS displayed in the window somewhere on your truck. Judging will start around lunch time on the Saturday. If you feel you have not been judged by 5pm give Shirley a ring on 07889913837.
Results will be at the trailer 11am on the Sunday. If you are renewing your membership at the show please do it on the Friday or early Saturday morning to avoid judges covering the same ground twice. It's a lot of leg work as it is!

OSWESTRY
Well we had the usual weather there WET. They so do not deserve to continually have the rain year after year. Not only does it affect the gate it affects the lorries turning out when they see the rain and hear the forecast. There was a good show of lorries and the staff together with Russ & Neil's hospitality more than makes up for the weather. The touch is when you leave they are all on the gate to see you off and wave you on your way its little things like this that makes the smaller shows so nice. We picked up 9 renewals there. We did very well as there weren't many of United Truckers there, around 20 lorries.

JC Training HGV, FLT, Plant, Hi-Ab,
I know times are hard at the moment so if I can help any of the guys tell them to get in touch.
Let’s say a driver is going for an interview and finds his forklift or his Hi-Ab licence has expired or anything else that he may need to get the job, then call me you never know I maybe able to help.
Do not worry about the driver CPC for those who already have a LGV licence you have 5 years to get your training from Sept 09.
There are some exceptions but not many it may be you will have to consult a solicitor although it is a driver’s responsibility to do it most employers I have spoken to are paying for it for their drivers.
I am going to be doing it free of charge if the driver will sign to do a Driving Goods Vehicle NVQ (not difficult)
If you have any questions please give me a call or e mail me.
