SOCIAL EVENT
There has been a get together arranged for Saturday 28th November at the Woodbourgh Inn, Winscombe around 7.30 ish. We have organised a few sandwiches etc. We will have a raffle to cover most of the buffet so any donations would be appreciated. We will have killer skittles for a bit of fun and it’s normally a nice little get together so try and attend if you live close enough.

THRUXTON RACE WEEKEND
We now come to the last truck show for the trailer. We were put outside with the trailer; this is where we were the very first year we went there. Actually Steve did us a favour we had spotless toilets all weekend, a good viewing area for the truck racing and superb company who parked with us. I think we all enjoyed it and we all had a great weekend. We picked up 10 new members and 5 renewals in the process.

SCOTLAND
We had a few members who attended this show it’s one we used to do but due to rising fuel costs it’s now not possible. This always was a lovely show but there we can't do it all. We did really well for live promotions results.
  • Steve Cheston made the final for Owner Driver, Custom and New Truck but no placing.
  • Paul Cecil made the final for Owner Driver and Custom but yet again no placing.
  • Will Pringle, S C Transport came 1st for Company Owned and 2nd for Custom.
The standard of truck at Scotland has always been very high so you all did well.

  • Kevin Charles H/C Owner Driver & H/C Working Truck
  • Glenn Douglas (GRIFFIN FREIGHT) 1st Best Rigid, 3rd Company Owned & 1st Model Truck
  • Iain Garaway (UNIVERSAL) 3rd Best Newcomer
WELL DONE TO YOU ALL !!!

PREMIER CLASS
For all the new members who don't know, you will find that at Peterborough, Shepton Mallet and Thruxton a Premier Class. If you have 1st in your class at any show in one year then the next year you move up into the Premier Class. This makes it much fairer to others and gives them a better chance of getting somewhere. You are removed from the Premier Class if you change your lorry or company. At the end of that year they return to Artic or Rigid under or over 3yrs.  We like to see new faces getting trophies and we hope by doing these classes it gives everyone a chance. We know our judging is straight and fair so hopefully this will explain it in more detail.
CONGRATUALTIONS

JC Training HGV, FLT, Plant, Hi-Ab,
I know times are hard at the moment so if I can help any of the guys tell them to get in touch.
Let’s say a driver is going for an interview and finds his forklift or his Hi-Ab licence has expired or anything else that he may need to get the job, then call me you never know I maybe able to help.
Do not worry about the driver CPC for those who already have a LGV licence you have 5 years to get your training from Sept 09.
There are some exceptions but not many it may be you will have to consult a solicitor although it is a driver’s responsibility to do it most employers I have spoken to are paying for it for their drivers.
I am going to be doing it free of charge if the driver will sign to do a Driving Goods Vehicle NVQ (not difficult)
If you have any questions please give me a call or e mail me.
