Our last show for the trailer was BIBIC at Bridgwater. We only had 15 lorries there but it was a lovely small car, bike and lorry show but everyone that went had a lovely time. Some were still up past 3am may I add!!  These North Devon boys sure know how to party. The weather was kind to us on the show day after being cancelled last year.

SOCIAL EVENT
There has been a get together arranged for Saturday 28th November at the Woodbourgh Inn, Winscombe around 7.30 ish. We have organised a few sandwiches etc. We will have a raffle to cover most of the buffet so any donations would be appreciated. We will have killer skittles for a bit of fun and it’s normally a nice little get together so try and attend if you live close enough.  Numbers in advance would be good for the food side as we have a buffet of sandwiches chips and bits. If you could let Shirley know if you are coming by 14th November so she has a guideline how many to carter for.

JC Training HGV, FLT, Plant, Hi-Ab,
I know times are hard at the moment so if I can help any of the guys tell them to get in touch.
Let’s say a driver is going for an interview and finds his forklift or his Hi-Ab licence has expired or anything else that he may need to get the job, then call me you never know I maybe able to help.
Do not worry about the driver CPC for those who already have a LGV licence you have 5 years to get your training from Sept 09.
There are some exceptions but not many it may be you will have to consult a solicitor although it is a driver’s responsibility to do it most employers I have spoken to are paying for it for their drivers.
I am going to be doing it free of charge if the driver will sign to do a Driving Goods Vehicle NVQ (not difficult)
If you have any questions please give me a call or e mail me.

HAYDOCK PARK
So we now come to the last Truckfest for 2009 the year seems to have gone so quick and what lovely weather we had better than August. Saturday was so hot and Sunday warm so it made the show. As we had no trailer there we could all wander around and chat with people which is rare at shows as there is always so much to do. We would like to thank Sue, Autosmart for her hospitality with seats to rest and a base so to speak, for all the chilled drinks tea and coffee. We have to than Bob and Jackie Isherwood who gave us some lovely raffle prizes for November and for the AGM and for Bobs hospitality It seems strange going around asking for a cuppa. There was around 200 lorries as we had conflicting numbers and the show was much smaller but they had a really good crowd there both days. We had around a dozen members there and Alan walker of Hewitts put our banner up to show we were there thanks Alan.
